UCMAS- Benefits

UCMAS help children to develop their memory, concentration, listening skills, mental calculation and also to overcome their phobia for mathematics. With enhanced memory, concentration, comprehension and self-confidence, UCMAS children get over examination blues and other emotional problems caused by exam-related tensions. This program is meant for a normal child aged between 6 - 12 years.
  • Increase the speed and accuracy of the student in mathematical calculations.
  • Improves the learning ability, writing skills, endurance and logical thinking of your child.
  • Promote the concentration level as well as comprehension
  • Boost up the memory power and learning capabilities
  • Building imaginative skills and develops all round academic proficiency
  • Builds confidence in children, sharpen their listening skill
  • Improves visualizing ability and self-reliance
  • Reduce carelessness and thus reduce the amount of stress in their higher studies.
  • Rapid calculation skills, better observation capabilities and quick reflexes.
Abacus Training & Brain Power
The science behind brain development links right hand to left side of the brain and vice versa. By using two hands, both sides of the brain can be developed easily.
Brain Development

UCMAS program prepares children initially, in the ancient art of mental arithmetic using a tool which is an old Chinese medieval calculator called "Abacus" for stimulation and balanced development of both left and right hemispheres of the brain.

How a Chinese Calculator helps Mental Arithmetic Ability?

At UCMAS, specially trained teachers guide groups of students on two hands method of handling abacus. The two hands technique of using abacus is actually a step towards higher level of Mental Arithmetic calculation. Mental arithmetic is connected to the ability to visualize. Children are taught to picture the abacus in their mind. Figures to be calculated are visualized as beads on abacus opposed to numerals. A bead is a picture while a number is not. It is easier to visualize the bead and calculate. This technique is very effective in performing basic arithmetic calculations such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. This method incorporates layers or a "picture up on a picture" concept. The calculation overlaps - when one picture is in mind, another picture is placed on top - this is the least painful way for fast and accurate Mental Arithmetic calculation. UCMAS trained children can mentally add 10 columns of 12 digit numbers within 30 seconds normally, while a normal adult won't be able to even read the numbers in one minute.
